i just got a smartphone. (droid pro)and my plan gives me 2 gb monthly. now i dont use the internet like web browsing that much. but does downloading free apps use up my data? or using the youtube app, gmail or facebook apps use it up?

all of those things use data. Youtube uses about 5mb a minute. Downloading apps uses data, using the apps uses data, even browsing in the app store uses data. Facebook, emails, they all use data. 2gb is a good amount to have tho. Just be mindful of youtube, it eats the most data.
