Question about facebook privacy? - Aaron - 11-09-2012 01:15 PM

Can I set it so nobody can find me on facebook through search results or any other means, so my profile doesn't show up? I only want people to be able to find my facebook if I send the link to them.

No but you can change who can look up your name or contact info so only friends can see it. If you go into the privacy settings tab and click edit settings on "how you connect" you can change it there. Even though you cant hide yourself from everyone it sounds like you'll still achieve the result you want.

You used to be able to. All you can do now is make sure you can't be looked up by google. You can do that. Privacy settings--->apps and websites--->public search---> uncheck the box. Then people can't look you up by search engines. Only facebook search.
