How can I prevent people from finding my profile when searching on Facebook? - Ann - 11-09-2012 01:15 PM
I don’t want other people to be able to search for my name and find my Facebook profile using the Facebook people search. I have tried many sites searching for an answer to my question but no answer solves my problem. Please help me.

The best solution is not giving ur real name. Suppose ur name is john, u can have profile name as Dostoevsky. U can change profile name five times. Also don't post profile picture. I m doing this myself. U can block certain people from finding u on facebook using search box. But this is not effective as they can use another profile and circumvent the block and find u. I did this to someone who blocked me! Also, they can get to ur profile from ur friend's friend list. Try my method, and then send friend request to ur friends and tel them not to reveal ur identity to others.

you can block people individually, but you can't stop people to see you profile by other ways. one thing you can do is to change you name alphabets in different way for e.g. sanath can be written $@n@th

If you use facebook on Mobile then
First into settings then privacy settings then go to " Control Your Default Privacy" and change it from everyone to friends or custom(to choose then name of some specific persons)
After that go to "How you connect " tab and here change every settings from everyone to friends ... Thats it ..
