Have the British Army stopped facebook from Camp Bastion? - Susie - 11-09-2012 01:16 PM

My friend is a soldier in Afghanistan and we have always communicated online, either via facebook or email. For the last 5 Weeks i have had no contact from them and i was wondering whether they had been told they cannot use the internet?
Thank you for the reply i did think that might be the case and yes i have met this person thanks again.

*7of9 No he hasn't asked for money.

They can and will limit bandwidth on anything that isn't mission essential based on what is going on. Could be something as simple as a server going down and they have to conserve bandwidth. And guess what comes as a last priority?

Could also be that he has been sent out on a mission. You step off a base and you step back into the year 800 AD.

Edit:

I forgot to ask...have you actually ever met this person in real life? If not read the follwoing link:

They may shut the internet and phone lines down so a soldier's family can be notified.
If the soldier asked for money and you did not send it, than your friend is a scammer and he started talking to other women who could pay him.
Just saying be very careful, a scammer will pull you in with sweet talk and I have talked to one of them before, such a sweet talker, infact the more they get to know you, the more they know how to sweet talk you and once they have you hooked they ask for money to go on leave, or get shots or pay for them to talk to you (and other women so they can get more money).
