How do I keep hidden stories from consistently coming back after I have hidden them ? Also, why did Facebook automatically switch me to Timeline format without my permission ? I DO NOT WANT TIMELINE. How do I go back to my format that I had up until a few hours ago ?

You cant remove Facebook timeline. It is a new feature of Facebook. You can hide stories from your wall by the following step.
Hover over the story and click pencil mark near to that story
Click Hide from Timeline

Not an answer for you, but I agree that I do not like the time line thing. I actually did it on purpose cuz all my friends were, but I do not like the format of it. Sorry to hear that you had it happen without your permission. I wish I could find a way to turn it back to the way it was. Sorry I don't have a solution for you. If I find one, I will let you know!!
