How long can you opt out of Facebook Timeline for? - sunshine_mel - 11-09-2012 01:20 PM

I've just clicked 'not now' when asked if I want Timeline; how long can I opt out for before it's no longer optional?

30 days. Then you will be forced.

It is awesome. When I go to someones profile now and they have the old style it just looks so gross. Not many ppl are using it.

I have yet to see an actual date from a credible source. Your time will come, It could be in an hour, or a month. I also have it, and like it better than the old Profile.

Once you opt in to timeline you cannot opt out anymore so just keep clicking Not Now when asked .

Not sure if theres a set date. Mine updated to Timeline by itself T_T and like only two people in my friends list didnt get updated to Timeline. Not sure how they managed to get 'skipped', but lucky them Tongue

Nobody knows the date when facebook will force people to switch to timeline.
my personal view is that they are holding off switching everyone at once, as there will be a huge backlash, as its one of the most unpopular changes they have made yet. so instead they are sneakily converting people one by one. One trick they are using is forcing people to switch to timeline when they add any of the new facebook applications that require timeline.

Anyway even if you do get timeline, its still possible to view the old style profile pages in your browser instead of the timeline pages if you follow this simple guide: http://fbpurity.com/remove-timeline

no one knows the exact date, because the date is different for everyone, but it wont be much longer now

1 day, 5 hours, 4 minutes, and 19 seconds.
