I just started on twitter and I wanted to know if there are any free website that will help you gain followers. What have you used that works for you?

I work in online marketing and the best way that I have found to gain followers in Twitter is to join goups with high numbers of followers that relate to the topics you tweet about regularly.
e.g. if your a ferry company join groups relating to the destinations you travel to.
I've also found that open ended questions tend to get repsonses from people which cna lead to conversation and allows you to engage with your target audience

You just run it, add your accounts to the account manager, follow 500 people, then follow 500 more the next day, repeat this untill you reach 2,000, then unfollow 250 each day until you reach about 750, then repeat the 500 thing, and then repeat these steps over and over

The only way really is to go by the 'follow and be followed' rule.
5 weeks ago I had less than 100 followers and now I'm nearing 5000
It's pretty easy and takes about 30 minutes per day. I'm http://www.twitter.com/mynamesash.
