Is this possible? I know how to get it off of my timeline when I change this setting but I don't know how to keep it off of anyone's news feed.

yes Open ur Profile timeline, click on "Info" go to ur "Relationship status" see the Privacy is set to "friends" click it and select and Option "Only me" now only two persons can see it
