Is There A Site Like Facebook, But For Intelligent People? - Derpy Hooves - 10-02-2012 04:46 AM

I love facebook a lot. It keeps me updated, it gives me some random virtual space to vent, share fun things I have done, etc. But I hate the idiots on there. "Want 2,000 friend requests?! Subscribe to me!" This is the newest and most annoying facebook fad out there now. I thought it couldn't get any worse than going to a funny photo to see that the ONLY thing people are doing are commenting "first," or "first fag," or spamming their stupid blue comments to advertise their stupid page that nobody cares about. There are also idiots stupid enough to click spam links and get their accounts hacked.

But come to think of it, ignoring the "subscribe to me" fad, I think there is something FAR more stupid. TRYING TO HASHTAG ON FACEBOOK! It doesn't do anything! It just makes you look stupid! #YOLO, #idungivafuq, etc. Or even the idiots that even improperly hashtag such as "#i Donnt gett youu ppll!" Really? Come on!

SO! Is there a site like facebook, but only for intelligent people? Something not dead like myspace? I am aware there is Twitter (WHERE HASHTAGGING IS APPROPRIATE!), but it doesn't have the same feel to it. No easily accessible private messaging with chat, no easily able to read comments on a tweet, etc.

Almost anything will do.

sorry, the most popular sites are infested with little kids trying to get more popular

the hashtagging thing isnt a sign of lack intelligence, it just means that those people are using twitter, and have their facebook synced with twitter, so everything they post on twitter gets copied to facebook

Facebook works quite well for one billion intelligent people.

There is no other site unfortunately. I left social networks alone all together.
