how i did it with tumblr is follow loads of people, & some will follow you back, ask people to recommend you if you want LOADS of followers, by doing that i got like 142 followers in 2 months

Jessica, im not sure if you need followers for personal use or for business but if you really want you could check out certain social network marketing sites.
I used one a while back called WantFans.com, theyll help you get 1000 or so followers in about a week or so.
