No, usually they have a system called novel on there. It is just a monitoring software. I would go to the control panel and check for any fishy programs to see whats installed. Just start peeking around.
See if you can open CMD, task manager, all the little things school dont want you to open. You should be fine though.

yes many schools will monitor the Internet activity. those spy app or keylog tool will work in stealth mode and not show up in the task manager or processes, more info: http://www.adiguo.com/keylogger-software-reviews.html
