is there parental controls for facebook? - Theresa - 11-09-2012 04:25 PM

my son wants a facebook account and his father and I agree that he cannot have one yet. He is 10 years old and his friends have one, however we wouldn't mind him having one if there were parental controls. Is there such a thing for facebook?

You can keep his e-mail and password, create your own accounts and watch it, etc.

yes, you make yourself one too, you can also block what you allow others to see (personal info, i.e. phone, address, school, family, relation status, friend list etc)

Well you can restrict the privacy controls to only letting his friends see his profile or if you want even more protection keep his password and email written down or/and create your own account and watch his profile

PS- you will have to lie for his age, you have to be 13

No it is not parental control because kids are not supposed to have one it says its for adults.

No, but if you put their birthday as being under 18, it will block them from any inappropriate stuff. Make sure you set the privacy settings NOT to show their birthday!!
