How should I ask my mom for a facebook? - Nina - 11-09-2012 04:31 PM

Hi! I've turned 12 about 4 months ago, and my mom had said no to getting a facebook. It's been about 4 months, and I'm ready to ask again. I was wondering if there was any certain way that may help her say yes, as I've been begging for a facebook forever. Should I walk in and ask,"Mom, can I have a facebook," or should I say something else? Thank you if you can help!

How about, "Mom, would you help me to violate the terms of service on a website not suitable for me?" No?

FYI You are also violating the TOS here - you need to be 13 for a Y!A account.

I honestly believe Facebook was mention for college students but now everyone is on it. My niece (who is 11) has one but with the over look of my sister. Facebook offers all sorts of privacy. From blocking your whole page from people who don't know you all the way down to blocking a post from a single friend. The down side is once you upload a picture to fb they own your pic even after you deleted your account. You should read the privacy statement before asking your mother. Who knows maybe she will let you have one, but know that the more people you add the more open your page becomes to people you don't know. You could just type in someones name in google and find their fb account or pictures.
