My Dad told me and my sister he downloaded a software to our Home PC that has recorded our MSN conversations, Bebo, MySpace and Facebook comments! We are on Macs btw. We are just unsure whether he is bluffing or not!

It is possible, anything you send over the internet is usually sent in plain text, unless on SSL (you know a site is SSL because it's address would start https://.... )
usernames, passwords, websites, msn converations, comments anything can be tracked, and the thing is your dad doesn't need to install any software on a particular PC he can run a packet sniffer which would sniff all packets on the network.
Meaning he could be in the other room on his laptop reading through the conversation.
He can also install an application that will basically just stream your actual screen on another computer without you knowing it.
And he can also install what is known as a key logger, all this basically does is store all the keys you enter on the keyboard in some text file to be read later.
