What does it mean when my profile says people can see my updates? - Bored - 11-09-2012 04:41 PM

Does that mean they can see the questions that i've asked and answered on Y/A?

You have set your questions and answers to <private> - I checked this right now, but those updates mean that your YA activities may be shared with users of facebook, twitters, and the like. If you do not like that idea, go to your profile and disable the sharing of your YA activities. Before you haven't made your choice the bubble will keep popping up! Here's how to do it: click on edit my preferences in your YA profile or use the <My Activity> tab at the top of this page, scroll down to Y!Updates, make sure that <Don't share my updates> is displayed in the box, click <preview> at the bottom and then okay.

I also had my Q&A set to private when Yahoo introduced this new feature a couple of weeks ago, and it made me really angry. I mean, why in the world would a user set his account to private on Yahoo, but on the other hand choose to share it with the rest of the world...:-(
