I'm getting sick of seeing my ex-girlfriend's updates on Facebook, it's depressing. I can't unfriend her, but I would like to just hide her comments from coming up in the little 'ticker' on the right-hand side. How do I do that?
I'm not using any phone. Also privacy settings can't do that, I just want to not see her on my ticker or news feed. I don't want to block everyone from adding or messaging me.

I don't have it so I don't know exactly but you could try hiding her status updates, putting her to Restricted list etc.

Go and edit your private settings
get the info u need to control ur sharing of fb
EDIT YOUR PRIVACY SETTINGS
Your privacy setting page has a group of general controls for your facebook account,like who can send your friend request and messages and posts.
If u're using smart phones,
1. Tap photo at the topleft of any page
2. Scroll to the bottom of the menu
3. Tap account>privacy settings.
If u're using other phones,
1. Click settings at the bottom of any page
2. Choose settings> privacy settings
