I got friend suggestion from facebook today suggesting my half brother as a friend. We're over ten years apart. We have different last names. We have no mutual friends. We went to different elementary/middle/high/college. Were from different home towns. He lives half way across the state now and I only see him a few times a year.
How did facebook suggest him as a friend?

Facebook has records of all of us from the government as part of one of there schemes (Read fb T&Cs) they say it is to protect us ladadadada

It could be through the email you used to register your FB account. If he has it he may have done a search for friends by email, or you may have.
