I want to get rid or turn off the chat bar on Facebook. As I my mother is going to be using my account. (She isn't computer savvy).
As I don't want my friends to contact me while she is on it, is there a way for the chat bar to be turned off.

OKay, on the bottom right hand side of your screen on FB, there should be a tiny person with a green dot next to it. Press that. Now, click the button "offline" when it pops up. When you want to go back on, just do the same thing, but press "online".

If you want to remove an application you have to authorize ur acnt by cliking on the “applications†button which is present at the left end of the chat bar at the end of any page 4m facebuk.
In the menu that appears after that click on the EDIT link and it vl lead you to the edit applications page. From there click on the “EDIT†link to the right of the application in question. Finaly click on the “remove†link on the right.
