Has facebook ruined your friendships and relationships rather than helped them? - sugar1973 - 11-09-2012 05:13 PM

I've found that it has harmed rather than hurt by the way the site is created. All the hide features, liking statuses, friending/unfriending, relationship status changes, profile pictures, exes on facebook has led to anger, confusion, isolation, and narcissism. Curious if anyone has had experiences. I can't see a way around it besides going off fb altogether.

I know a number of people, including myself, that had relationships that were adversely affected by Facebook. On top of that, a friend of mine lost his job over what he posted on Facebook. You have to be extremely careful what information you put there.

Yeah it definitely ruined my relationships. Imagine this: Less privacy(nosey people), jealous exes, boyfriends/girlfriends, bitch fits with people on public statues where everyone can see them and more. If you are on facebook you should always check and edit your privacy settings so there will be less problems.

Yeah facebook is a very nice way of socialing and making friends and also fun and entertaining but you have to be very careful.
I suggest you privatise your account and limit it as I did and be very careful.
Do not add random people and you should be fine as I did.
Good luck.
