Does facebook contribute to the breakup of relationships? - LondonGirl - 11-09-2012 05:21 PM

Just wondering because it seems to encourage a level of communication that would allow infidelities to occur.

No facebook does not contribute to breakup. people do. Each person has a choice, whether to be loyal and truthful to their partner/mate or whatever you want to call it.

People seem to think that the Internet is somehow PRIVATE.
They are stupid and sooooo wrong. In fact, with cache sites like Google, the Internet is actually PERMANENT.
The teens now, who are doing really stupid things and posting naked photo's of themselves and saying really hateful things are in for a rude surprise in later life when they go on a job interview. Employers are even now starting to do web searches on prospective employees.

I think it does and I've heard a few stories. Just the other day I heard that a man found his wife, and the mother of their 3 children, on facebook. She claimed to be single, had posted some very provocative pictures and made up a completely fictitious history about her life. The husband was so furious he took the kids and left her. I haven't heard anything else, so I don't know what happened after that.

In my case, yes it does. My "friend" (now my mortal enemy) threatened to take a gun to my head in a note of hers. I had to take it and show the police. I could've pressed charges, but I didn't. I still go on facebook but I have her on my block list.
