I had someone listed as my brother on facebook, and I was pretty sure that they accepted a long time ago, but recently I noticed that it didnt show their picture on my account were it was listed as brother and still said pending. If they accepted but removed the relationship is this what would happen?

Yes... Or it could be a facebook bug. Who knows...

Yes, if you didn't do it then they removed the relationship from their profile which removed it from yours and Facebook automatically set it to pending (which it really is not anymore). This could be because they wanted to put their real family on their Facebook, or they just didn't want to keep you there anymore. If you don't want it to show up on your profile go to edit and remove the old relationship.
