Is it illegal to impersonate somebody on Facebook in order to have a specific person accept my friend request? - Tammy - 11-09-2012 05:35 PM I really want to see my ex-boyfriend's profile, but he refuses to accept my friend requests so I can't see it. I was thinking of impersonating one of his friends (he has about 1200) and friend requesting him. He'll most likely accept, but is it illegal to impersonate somebody on Facebook? I just want to see his profile and how he's doing - I don't plan on spamming his wall or anything bad. - Darry - 11-09-2012 05:43 PM It depends on a case to case basis. Any form of abuse or defamation is wrong, and so are certain things such as impersonating a police officer or even copyright infringement... Still, you need to consider whether this impersonation is a sensible thing to do, legal or not. |
