How do you politely decline an invite from an acquaintance? - iBelieve in TrueLove - 11-09-2012 05:35 PM I got a facebook invite from my close friend's friend for party. I rarely go on fb and I have been to her party twice but I cannot make it this year. How do I decline her invite politely? "Thanks for the invite but I can't go" sounds way too weird to me. is there another way I can word this? - bruiserkc2 - 11-09-2012 05:44 PM All you have to do is tell your FOAF that you have a previous engagement and can't make it but appreciate being invited. Don't make it too complicated, just simply say that. - ? - 11-09-2012 05:44 PM bruiserk is absolutely correct... take his advice. - Garryq - 11-09-2012 05:44 PM If it's a message, reply "Thanks but I'm busy that night" (or similar). If you got the invite as a FB event invite just click "No". Why answer politely when the invite itself wasn't polite? - Sheila B - 11-09-2012 05:44 PM There's no reason to lie, and unlike getting out of jury duty, it's not necessary to provide an excuse. "Won't be able to make it, but hope everyone has a blast!" or something similar should do. |
