She does need her privacy. Let her be a teen

No. She needs to have her privacy.

You are a bad mother if you are treating her like a prison inmate. Give the kid her privacy. How will she ever learn to make her own decisions on right or wrong if she has someone in her shadow constantly doing it for her. She needs to learn her own life lessons, whether they be good or bad.

no give her privacy geez have some trust within your child

Although you may be concerned, it is a natural thing for teenagers to want privacy and not want their mother spying. Let her keep it to herself but make sure she keeps her account private and doesn't accept strangers as friends. I was allowed a facebook at that age and I never got into trouble. Kids just like it for independence.

since you are legally responsible for your teens actions, you absolutely should be able to keep tabs on her by checking her account - explain that internet privacy doesnt happen until she turns 18

I don't think you should ask her for the password. 14 years old do need some privacy. If it was you ,would you let your daughter have your facebook password too? Trust your daughter and let her have some privacy! Smile also if you ask your daughter for her password, she might feel the need to hide things from you. Good Luck! Try to out yourself in her situation and think about what you would do.
