How does AIT training work for the army? - Christina - 11-09-2012 05:49 PM

My boyfriend and father of my son is currently in basic training at Fort sill, OK. He graduates July 13, and after that he has his AIT in San Antonio. I was wondering if after graduation if he is going to be able to come home for a lil like a week or two. Also I was wondering how the AIT is like will it be like basic training where we can only write or what?

He will come home for 10 days and then leave for his AIT and then come home after that.

No. They buy his plane tickets to go straight to AIT. I had a month after my grad date and before my AIT start date. They sent us all straight. It's part of the soldierization proces. if he has a big enough break time after grad and before AIT start date, AIT chain of command may let him take leave if he has enough leave days

Your BF is in AIT with my nephew! He is in 4th PLT Delta. Your BF will not be coming home after BCT. He will report directly to his AIT, again with my nephew and will not get leave until after AIT or more likely after he reports to his unit. I'm just hoping we aren't both talking about my nephew! Good luck!
