Should I send him a relationship request on facebook? - dekutree69 - 11-09-2012 05:50 PM

I have been seeing my long distance boyfriend for a few days now. He says that things are complicated, but he is fine with people calling me his girlfriend and vice versa. I have changed me facebook relationship status to "in a relationship" but he still hasn't changed his and it makes me feel kind of nervous Confused so should I just send him a request?

Forget and get off facebook, and go out in real life and make a relationship with him.

It's only been a few days. Give it a couple more or a week maximum. Continue talking normally and if he still doesn't change it yet continues using Facebook there may
1. He's ashamed of you
2. He doesn't want to be bothered to change it as its not a big deal to him
3. Hasn't been long enough
4. He's a player and doesn't want other girls to see
You could confront him and ask but do it in the least needy way. Like hey all my friends are talking about me being in a relationship because of my status on facebook? Isn't that funny? This should be subtle enough.

why facebook matters so much. he is a person, he knows what and how you feel, but why he have to update facebook? it's just a website, right?

No, I don't suggest you going ahead and sending him a request... I've had my own experience with this (gender reversed) and it didn't go to well... you shouldn't really need to fret over this, but if you feel this is significantly important enough to you to make this go ahead, you should always (ALWAYS) make sure this is okay with your significant other. Talk to him, ask him, be clear about it; and that it means a lot to you and he may say yes.

So first off think about how important it means for you to have this "symbolic" gesture, as in our day of internet, many things; "labels" can seemingly look life changing while in fact, when you take a big step back and think... it might then again seem trivial.

Patience and time prevails
Love is timeless and it is patient, for without patience, time is loveless.

Best of luck to you, and hope you make the right decision for both of you, and enjoy love for what it is.
