How can I change my settings do that I don't receive a notification Everytime one I'd my friends updates their status? I can't find this anywhere and they're also going to my email.

Go to your mail and open any one the mails you have received from the facebook and open it .and the bottom of that mail you will see that "'UNSUBSCRIBE "click on it ..then you will not get any messages

Go to your lists page (click Home > Friends > More)
https://www.facebook.com/bookmarks/lists
Click on the name of the list you want to edit
Click Manage List (in the top-right corner)
Choose Add/Remove Friends
Click on anyone you want to remove from the list (currently highlighted in blue) or click the names of friends you want to add
Click Done to save your changes

- Log into Facebook
- Click on the drop down tab to the top-right of the page (next to your pic, name, find friends, and Home tabs)
- Click on "Account Settings"
- To the left (top), you will see a list; Click on "Notifications"
- Scroll down to where it says "All Notifications"
- Click on "Facebook"
- A list will open - just "un-check" the notifications that you DO NOT want going to your phone.
I had to do the same thing recently and now the only things I am notified on are the things that pertain to me, such as an inbox message, a friend request, someone wrote on my wall, someone tagged me, etc...
