I read on the Twitter that, the Senate is passing a bill to censor the internet. Is this real? Why are they doing this?

The bill isn't passed yet, but no it's not to censor the internet, but it might as well be. The bill will require ISP's to retain data for up to 2 years, and the government will have free access to it. Invasion of privacy in other words, our citizens have gone insane with paranoia so this is what it has come to.
