Ok so I signed up, and I understand a re tweet, but how do I actually tweet to the people I am following? I have no idea, and if I reply does that mean that person sees that reply? Help.. I am a nit twit!!

Heres an example:
@Twitter I love your service XD
The @ mark is needed to feedback to them and their username goes in the words "twitter"

It's like email/texting except that your message can only be 160 characters long.

To tweet to those you are following, use the format "@username" without quotes.

there is a space at the top where you type and hit tweett
if a person is on your friend list they can see it

to reply to someone type @"persons username" then your message. This tweet will appear in the persons timeline, allowing them to reply. The same as people who you arent following can tweet you and the message will appear.

To simply update your status to your followers:
Click "Home" and at the top is a box where you enter the text.
To Tweet @ someone:
In that same box, type @TheirNameHere then your message. Even if they don't follow you, when they click their @MyName it will show on the list.
Replying is the same thing as what I just described, except you will click reply and it will then bring you to the "Home" page and automatically put the @TheirName for you.
A Re Tweet (aka RT):
When people find a Tweet interesting and want to share it with their followers. To do this, simply hold the mouse over the tweet and click "Retweet" and confirm.
