do you make less human connections because of the internet? - hippienutbread - 11-09-2012 06:14 PM

I'm writing an essay in my Nature and Uses of Language english class about the internet and how it affects us.
I noticed that I get advice (like maybe inspirational quotes or general life advice) from the internet or apps on my ipod touch a lot. I might even do it more than I get advice from real human beings.
Have you noticed this with yourself?
Are we becoming less human because of the internet?

Yes 100% yes, I don't call people anymore, I just message them on Facebook. It is crazy but true!

I can also say my son rarely picks up the phone and talks to his friends mainly through texting.

Yup! I kinda missed receiving a letter from my far away friends and relatives. Most kids stay indoors and spend long hours infront of their computer instead of playing with other kids. My two nephews are so addicted to facebook and online games.
