how much do colleges look at your facebook, twitter, etc? - sheela - 11-09-2012 06:19 PM

applying to college soon, and i know that they might be looking at stuff all over about you when they get your application- might come across your facebook or twitter or something else on the internet. now, just wondering, how far back on that stuff do you think they would look? when i started thinking about this, even though i haven't applied fully yet, i started to try to keep my tweets a lot cleaner from now on. but, i don't know what's from a whiles back. will they find that and should i be worried they might not like it?

if you used your real name it is all over after they scan in your social security bar code or complete a cavity search, unfortunately.

As long as you have privacy settings on either site then you have nothing to worry about as they won't be able to access it.

Some colleges have thousands of applications, they don't have time to look at everyone's social networks
