How can I mute facebook notifications? - ERS - 11-09-2012 06:21 PM
Facebook has just added a noise to alert you when you receive a notification. I like getting the notifications, but I don't want the noise. Any ideas on how to cancel it?

If its on a mobile device than go to the sound settings and turn off the sound affects..... If its on a computer than go into the Facebook settings and turn off the notifications.

there has to be another way, right? You should have to turn notifications totally off to disable the sound. That would stop you from getting emails, or the visual notification as well right?
When did they add this, I had the same question and this one was only posted a few min ago.

Click on the "gear" on the chat system and the un-tick chat sounds. That will disable the notification sounds as well.
