how much should i sell this hand painted item for? - ~@lL!e~ - 11-09-2012 06:32 PM

i bought a regular glass plate and hand painted it, my boyfriend uploaded it to my facebook, everyone wants to buy one now, how much should i sell it for, cause i dont know how much i put into it. how much would you spend, its a 8x8 plate and it had a very cute snowman in the middle and glittery snowflakes on the sides (which were a pain in the butt!! lol) so thank you for your help!

You should add up how much the supplies cost (you can guess), then think of how many hours you spent working on it. Pay yourself at least minimum wage or a couple dollars more if you've got some skill. Then add it all up and voila! You've got a price.

You will probably think it's high, but you're worth it. People are interested in your work and it's called work for a reason. Congratulations! :o)

I agree with Evelyn. The end price may seem high, but you have created a unique piece of art, and you must not sell your talent too cheaply!
It sounds like you have hit upon a great idea for earning a bit of extra money as Christmas approaches, and I'm sure they would go down well as Christmas presents for your closest friends and relatives - perhaps you could add some personalisation to make it truly unique and special?
Good luck.
