Well on facebook, everyone puts some people on their profile saying they are their brother, sister, cousin, mother, father, spouse( husband, or wife) this doesn't mean these people are really related.
Maybe she's his friend so he wanted to put her name in the family section of his profile, but he didn't find any space so he just put her as wife.

LOL!! Sorry to say this but thats is very naive of you! Married on facebook?? Either he is married or in a relationship with her, or he just has utter disrespect for mentioning someone other than you on his relationship status. It is POSSIBLE to mention someone who is not on facebook, if he love and respected you enough your name would be there. Don't be fooled, you are being taken for a ride. Sorry..
