what is the best web framework and programming language? - greggoodwin - 11-09-2012 06:37 PM

When I say best I mean scalable and fast. I am switching from .net due to the overhead and slow down, not to mention MS licensing fees on servers. I have been told Ruby on Rails is the way to go but that is what twitter uses, and well, they are having performance issues. The other 2 I have looked at is PHP with CakePHP MVC and J2EE.

In my opinion, ASP.Net is the best as it is with complete solution (MS SQL and ASP.NET hosting plus greatest compatibility). Most often, ASP.Net servers are slow, but it does not mean that all servers of ASP.NET are slow. Only one thing that people avoid using .Net is the that it is expensive.
