I live in Texas and I'm surrounded by conservative republicans. Even my parents and brother are conservative. I'm probably a 6 or 7 on a 1-10 scale, 1 being extremely conservative and 10 being as liberal as you can get (I'm pro gay rights, but anti abortion). Everyone I know is a 1-3. How can I say this on my Facebook profile without offending people around me? Right now, it says "mostly conservative". Thanks.

I wouldn't worry about offending anybody. It is bound to happen and there is nothing you can do about it. If these people are your friends, it won't matter to them.

Why discuss politics on Facebook? I don't discuss politics or religion on there, if any of my friends begin spouting off about those topics, I fix it so I can't see their posts.

First be true to yourself and don't let anyone tell you that liberalism is a bad word . We are compassionate people who are full of integrity and honor .. There are million of progressives on face book like me who will welcome you kid .

most conservatives don't take offense when someone claims to be a liberal. it's liberals who get offended when someone vocalizes their conservatism
