I know that facebook did something to the pictures that not a lot of people like but I don't seem to have a problem with this. What are people talking about? Are the picture qualities like... lower or something?

Sometimes they take longer to load. I've heard that from a lot of people and it may be kind of true. I personally don't have a problem with it either.(:

No. Instead of navigating to a separate page where the photos are, they just pop up in a viewer that can be closed without navigating away from someone's profile. It's just a new feature that everyone is going to have to get used to.
