Is it dumb to be afraid of sending friend requests to people on Facebook? - - - 11-09-2012 06:56 PM

I know a lot of people with facebooks, who know me too, but I'm nervous about sending them friend requests. Is that weird? I guess it's because I'm afraid of them denying it or only accepting it to be polite.

I'm only sending friend requests to people I know. I'm not real close friends with them, I just want to get better acquainted with everyone. Is it stupid to be nervous about these things?

Yes.

It isn't "dumb."
Just a little silly.

I wouldn't worry about it, if you know the person it shouldn't be a big deal.

it's not that weird really.
but you don't need to be afraid because you can basically add anyone even if you've only met them like once. you don't have to really know someone well or even like them to be friends with them on facebook. that's why people that have hundreds of friends have so many.

Haha, I think it's natural to feel like that. No one wants to face rejection.

I don't think you should be afraid. Initially there's a little bit of anxiety, but overall, just friend request them. If you want them as Facebook friends, then why not. Who cares what they think of you. Like you said, it's not like you are requesting random people -- atleast they know you. It's understandable to be nervous, but don't be! Good luck!
