When I close my facebook tab, the friend IM tabs disappear, why is that?
Im not sure what you are asking, but like when you click on a friend to message, it appears on the bottom. But when I close facebook all of those disappear.

because the facebook IM is only active when your "online" on facebook. Just being on the internet won't cut it. its not like yahoo IM; its specific to the facebook website.
