It's actually my girlfriends chat... but still.
She logs on to facebook and it says 'Nobody is available to chat' but there clearly is because when I'm on at the same time it doesn't recognize I'm on.
It's been like this for a while and we can't figure out why.

Try going to the little options button on the chat bar at the bottom. Click "limit availability." You might have a few lists or something along those lines. Change "make me available to" to "make me unavailable to," and uncheck your lists as you please. I had the same issue for a long time, and doing this worked for me. Hope this helps!
