I used to get alerts on Yahoo when I had a new Facebook notification and suddenly they just stopped coming through. I checked the settings on FB and it still says to send notifications to my Yahoo address but they're not coming through.

If I had to guess I would guess the reason is because they want you to use yahoo's service instead of facebook.

Yahoo mail has had problems.
I often forward an email to Yahoo email, and it takes several hours before it reaches Yahoo.
But, when I forward an email to Google email, it gets there instantly.
Maybe Yahoo will get things fixed?
