I honestly don't get it. We got on great together and he would tell me about his family and his life in his home country when we worked together. And I was always polite and respectable to him.
Also, he deleted everyone except 1 person from work, who he constantly said he couldn't trust.
Any ideas what's with him? The only thing I could think of is that he lost his temper or something, which he said he had done to some people in the past (including his father-in-law). Otherwise I have no idea.

He must like negative people if he freaks with a person that he can't trust.

maybe his face book was hacked into and the hackers deleted everyone.
or maybe he just getting rid of face book
the saying keep your friends close and your enemies even closer come to mind.

May I suggest stop trying to guess what your ex-Boss is doing and ask him. There could be a list of reasons a foot long and the only way to really know is ask.
Start a conversation about getting friend requests in Face Book from people you don't know OR getting invites to events that it feels like spam from your friends. Then lead the conversation to what he thinks about Face Book.
Anything else is a guess, get the information from the source.
You will be surprise how easy it is and the response my surprise you.
