Having problems uploadin GIMP edited pics to facebook? - Misty S - 11-09-2012 07:50 PM

Ok so i started using GIMP the photo editing software and im having a problem uploading it to facebook. Everytime i try to upload it to facebook a message that says. TRY uploading something closer to a square. Whats going on how can i fix this and put it on face book? Oh and btw i already made it a Jpg file so that isnt the problem.

Just crop it so it's more nearly square.

It's not a problem with GIMP. It's asking you to upload a picture that has similar height and width

You need to crop or resize the image so it is closer to 4:3 ratio, and not 16:9

Crop your image in GIMP so it is square. Use the crop tool. You can set the crop tool to an aspect ratio of 1:1 (a square), so that it will be forced to crop the image to a square.

Click the crop tool, in the tool options dialogue select fixed aspect ratio, in the box underneath type 1:1. Then click and drag to crop your image, press enter to accept the crop.

Your done!
