Why do you say you need a FaceBook account? (This is news to me; I've been on this site nearly 6 years.)
Edit for afterthought: Could it be that they ALLOW you to use your FB account to log in to YA? That doesn't mean you HAVE TO use your FB log-in, just that you CAN.

I think that what you are speaking of is, news articles that appear on the web and you try to post a comment,then find that you are required to have a facebook account to post, It Sucks.
