so i have my twitter settings on private where someone has to request to follow you. but since my tweets cant be seen, does that mean when i write to someone who isn't following me (but im following them) can't see what tweeted them because it's private?

If your tweets are private, your replies and mentions (@ + username) to other users who aren't following you will not be seen by them.
To see your tweets they have to request you.
