I usually communicate with my friends through AIM, facebook, and myspace. I rarely use my cell phone to call my friends. I have pretty low confidence, but I feel kind desperate to find a girlfriend since senior year is coming up which means I need someone to go with me to prom.

Oh please dude, it's not the texting.
If you want to meet someone, you have to get out there to the REAL world. Go socialize. Go to the mall, the park, the bank, somewhere!
You're not going to meet the perfect date just because of texting.

Just be confident and be yourself. Don't rush things and give girls some time to get to know you.

im very shy too and now that ive graduated i wish that i would have been more outgoing. dont hold back because youll wish you would have been yourself and made more memories. you only experience life once so make the most of it. just be yourself and you will find a girl. good luck.
