I am trying to make a link from a single word. Eg, take someone to my facebook page but just have the word 'facebook'

If this is in your sidebar description or somewhere in your theme, just use the following piece of HTML:
<a href="URL">facebook</a>
Swap URL with the address of your Facebook page.
If you want the link to be in a post, type the word (in this case, 'facebook'), in the text box. Highlight it, and click the chain icon above the text box. In the window that opens, enter the address on the first line, press submit, and voilà .

You can change the "p" tags to div tags and style as needed. Page MUST be accessible to viewers or it doesn't work.
