How can I stop the annoying notifications asking me to play games, take quizzes, etc on the new facebook? Thanks a lot.

If you are receiving requests from App such as Farmville, instead of clicking accept on the request, there should be a "Block this application" option underneath.

Block the e-mails or just go on facebook mangement and check no e-mail box. Also, you could change the e-mail address to a e-mail you never use, the you won't see any e-mails
