myspace has lots of creepy people on it- and its not exactly child friendly anymore. besides it has viruses.
facebook is ok if you monitor it and make sure she/he doesnt add anyone they dont know. (again with the creepy people) its alot safer than myspace. and more user friendly. also you can control the privacy settings, like block her/his page so that no one but the people he/she accepts as friends can see his/her info.
twitter is just something you type what you are doing/ or something you want to say. you can directly speak to someone or speak to everyone. TONS safer. but not much to do. he/she can also follow thier favorite celebs. (be careful though! some use language not suitable for younger children)
