I swear Im not an old lady, I just dont use twitter but I've seen posts, and Im curious like people will put #JohnDoe.. like what does that mean!??!

It's called a hashtag Smile It mentions something about the post. it's usually how people feel about what they're posting.

I put the same question a while back ago. Lol. But after using twitter i knew what it was. Its called a 'hash-tag' ...its a practically a tag and a topic. For example, jersey shores hash tag is #jerzday ... So if your ever posting a status update that involves jersey shore.. You put #jerzday somewhere in the status so other people that put the same hash tag can see your status. If any type of topic is trending, it will most likely be in a hash tag form so everyone can know what buzz is about.
